Saint T is a singer, songwriter and pianist, born and raised in the Washington, D.C. Since first sitting down at the piano over 2 decades ago, Saint T has been determined to make a life for herself revolving around music. And she has accomplished just that. From grade school through high school, Saint T honeD her piano and vocal skills through consistent lessons, practice and performances, and was a finalist, winner, or featured soloist at various regional and state competitions and events. In addition to her classical training, she made her professional debut at age 13 as a church pianist. It was around this point that she began writing songs of her own.
Saint T continued to pursue music in college. She added formal jazz instruction to her training regimen, and delivered captivating, soulful and energetic performances, even earned a scholarship to travel abroad to perform at the SoundSCAPE international music festival in Pavia, Italy. She also spent considerable time in the school’s media center learning how to use Logic while recording a six-song demo on her own in her spare time.
After receiving her undergraduate degree in Music and public Policy, Saint T returned to D.C. to attend law school (at her mother’s insistence that she needed a “Plan B”). Even through law school, Saint T persisted towards her musical aspirations, cultivating skills playing in multiple genres by playing in church ad corporate bands, affording her the opportunity to visit the White House and perform for former President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama. In 2012, while still in school, Saint T was the recipient of the 2012 Ebone Image Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music and the Arts, presented y the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
This wasn’t enough - Saint T knew she wanted to make a statement, in her own words, through her own music.
In December 2013, Saint T (performing as Stephanie Kristina) released The Hour, the result of her 20-year love affair with music. A unique and refreshing mix of soul, R&B, jazz and hip-hop, each track on The Hour is a small piece of of her persona memoir, telling a story of love, purpose and divine timing. of what she hopes to convey through The Hour, Saint T says: “I want people to hear this project, enjoy the music, learn about me, and hopefully, learn from my experiences. I want people to know that loving yourself and accepting no less than what you deserve is the place to be. I want this project to inspire people to love themselves and each other a little bit better.” The hour was released through Saint T’s independent imprint, SoundVision Entertainment.
The Hour went on to be nominated for Best Urban EP at the 2015 Independent Music Awards. In 2016, Saint T shifted her focus to the law industry by forming her own solo practice, SKT Legal. Focusing on the areas of entertainment law, copyright and trademark law, small business law and non-profit law, SKT LEGAL endeavors to provide affordable and accessible legal representation to the creators, innovators and entrepreneurs.
In 2018, Saint T released the single “IDK” which went on to win the 2019 Wammie Award for Best Soul Song. Most recently, she has added to the IDK movement with the October 2020 release of “Don’t”, which is available on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and Google Play.
